WHY
The primary goal of the FCA Deaf Ministry Internship is to develop an understanding of your individual calling to ministry through training, discipleship and sport ministry experiences. The internship is a way to develop your leadership and provide a picture of what it looks like to be on FCA Staff.
WHO
Any college student who has completed one year of college, demonstrates proficiency in American Sign Language, and has a heart to learn more about Deaf Sports Ministry through FCA.
WHAT
Educational focus through training and experiential learning.
- Creating disciple makers.
- A picture of what it looks like to be on FCA Staff.
- Serving the local community.
- Fellowship together.
- Leadership and professional development.
- Lead at Deaf huddles, events, and sports camps.
WHEN & WHERE
- Application will be open from October 1st- December 31st, 2025.
- Interviews and offers will be made in early January 2026.
- A one-day mandatory online Fundraising Bootcamp will be in January 2026.
- Fundraising will take place from mid-January to the beginning of the internship in May.
- The internship will last 10 weeks from mid May (May 18th) to the end of July
- The location of the Internship will primarily take place in Southwest Pennsylvania (Pittsburgh, PA); there will be a couple ministry opportunities and experiences in nearby cities.
HOW
- You will need to raise 100% of your intern budget ($4,000) by the start of the internship.
- Your summer paycheck will be set at $800 a month with ministry expenses covered through your fundraising.
- Housing will be provided in Pittsburgh, PA.
- Interns will be trained to fundraise at Bootcamp.
- There will be a weekly online accountability calls from February to May.
